No. While the Gulf Coast Writers Association is based in Fort Myers, members come from across the region to attend in person, with additional members from other states participating via Zoom.
Membership meetings are held on the third Saturday of each month, excluding December. Members also receive regular email updates to stay connected and network with one another.
GCWA welcomes authors at every stage of their writing journey. Its programs are designed for those looking to grow—whether by improving their writing skills, learning effective marketing strategies, or exploring publishing options.
GCWA members write across a wide range of genres, including fiction, non-fiction, memoir, mystery, romance, children’s, YA, travel, poetry, and historical fiction—essentially every genre found on Amazon. However, the association does not accept content that promotes hate, pornography, or extreme violence.
Annual dues are $50, payable upon joining and on the anniversary of that date. Couples or families living in the same household may join together for $60 per year.
Visitors are welcome to attend one meeting at no cost to see if GCWA is the right fit for them. Returning visitors may join additional meetings by paying a $5 fee at the door.
Book submissions are reserved for members only.
To submit a book, members should click on the “Members Only” tab, enter their password, and then select “Book Submission” to access the form.
