Dr. Kenneth R. Hyde
**Genre:** Non-Fiction History
Dr. Kenneth Hyde is an alumnus of Indiana University. “From Farm Fields to Battlefields” is a creation borne in retirement from a passion for World War II history. The possession of over 400 letters and postcards between two brothers and beloved family members back home in Indiana was the impetus to tell the story of ordinary soldiers participating in extraordinary events. Dr. Hyde and his wife, Kathleen, enjoy Indiana summers and Florida winters.
Recreated from over 400 letters and postcards sent home from across the Atlantic during WWII, the story of two farmer brothers turned soldiers is an archetype for the thousands like them whose stories have not been told.
By sharing their story, families like ours will find camaraderie in our shared story and grow to appreciate and remember their own loved ones with a richer and deeper compassion. For those further removed from the intimacies of a war-torn family, this book shares a glimpse into the human experience and sacrifice others have paid for our freedom.
