Edward Donlin is a long-tme writer but seldom published book author. He has resided in SWFL for nearly 40 years and wrote and produced the television series The Boating Show, which aired on SWFL cable and the Sunshine network for five years. Later, he wrote a newspaper column on boating for the Fort Myers Beach Observer Newspaper and developed two local reality Television shows about waterfront restaurants and boating, starring his son, Christopher Donlin. The experience shootng and editng videos led him to be a volunteer editor on the film, ‘Escampaba, Kingdom of Carlos.’

His coming-of-age story explains the tribe’s adjustments to the new challenges to changes beyond their control and the eventual decision to resist the invaders. First came the shipwrecked live animals, mostly pigs, and then the Spanish survivors of the Spanish Galleon treasure vessels returning to Spain that were caught in violent storms between Cuba and Florida and wrecked on the Keys.
