The Gulf Coast Writers Association operates entirely through the dedication of its volunteers. Each member of the Board and Executive Committee generously donates their time and talent to ensure the community continues to thrive. Their contributions are not only valued—they’re vital.

Recognizing that not everyone can commit to a long-term role, each officer serves for a three-year term, beginning each April. The Board convenes three times per year outside of general meetings, while the Executive Committee meets approximately eleven times annually.

Just one year of service can make a lasting difference. Volunteers play an essential role in shaping a supportive environment for writers at every stage. At GCWA, the time and heart of each volunteer truly matter.

Corporate Board Members

The four Board members shape the organization’s long-term vision, align its mission with nonprofit guidelines, and oversee its financial health. It also helps uphold transparency, maintain accountability, and manage potential conflicts of interest. Executive Committee Members

The Executive Committee oversees the organization’s day-to-day operations, implements board policies, and supports ongoing programs and events. This team serves as the acting liaison between the GCWA members and the board, implementing decisions efficiently, coordinating regular activities, and addressing immediate needs.

The Executive Committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month, except December. Meetings are held via Zoom at 5:00 PM and are open to all GCWA members.
