Alice is a nature/outdoors lover born in New Jersey and transplanted to Florida, trading bear sightings for alligator sightings.
In addition to outdoor adventures, Alice raised 5 children in the most self-sustaining environment she could conjure — milking goats and raising some of the meat and vegetables for her family. She baked bread and made yogurt. She remembers her kids moaning that no one would trade lunches with them because their sandwiches consisted of home-made peanut butter and jelly on home-made whole wheat bread, an adolescent’s version of yucky. No chips, soda, or candy — what a fate for growing kids.
