He later went on serve in executive human resource leadership positions with companies such as Robb & Stucky, Carlson Companies, Centex Corporation, and Kane’s Furniture. He left the corporate world to being consulting and writing.
A once respected but now troubled, alcoholic investigative reporter from Middlebury, Vermont, is assigned one last story to resurrect his career – his name is Austin Paige. He’s sent to Ft. Myers, Fl. to do a story about the now discovered last living World War II veteran – John Anderson, aka Papa John.
Austin meets Papa John’s caretaker, his granddaughter, Cindy. A romance buds as they begin working together to complete the Papa John interview. What they think is going to be a quick and simple story takes a sudden twist when Austin and Cindy begin uncovering secrets that no one – including the family – ever knew. The initial story that Austin publishes sets off alarm bells within the Pentagon who begin their own investigation into Papa John.
It turns out that there was more to Papa John than being the last living WWII veteran.
